GEOGRAPHICAL MAPS’

Una serie di preziose mappe riguardanti le esplorazioni, talune rarissime,ognuna con la propria storia riguardante i viaggi durante i quali sono state stilate. Molte redatte da esploratori come Sven Hedin, Sir Aurel Stein,Kingdon Ward, Littledale e molti altri, ma altre anche quelle della Compagnia delle Indie e della Dutch East India Company che commerciavano dal 1700 in poi con una gran parte dei paesi asiatici e sub continentali che si affacciavano nei mari solcati anche dalle navi dei pirati che si contendevano tesori e merci. La cartografia è presentata anche in abbinamento da testi originali dell'epoca delle esplorazioni asiatiche ed africane.Una saga quindi delle relazioni che intercorrevano fra Oriente ed Occidente nell'epoca che vide l'espansione delle potenze coloniali che senza esclusione di colpi si contendevano fra loro l'egemonia dei mercati, sulle popolazioni e sulle ricchezze vergini che le grandi aree del globo contenevano.La Mostra è accompagnata anche da ceramiche recuperate spesso da vascelli e giunche affondate nell'Oceano Indiano e nel Mar Cinese Meridionale.Una presentazione quindi che accompagna il visitatore in un mondo speciale che fa comprendere il grande sforzo di persone che per prime abbiano fruito del grande fascino della scoperta di quanto prima era l'ignoto.
