IT WAS ONCE CHINA

Pictures of the Chinese society at the time of the great photographers who, with big efforts, used to travel outside of the Western world to go to a far and forbidden world. We can see pictures of old fishermen, beggars, people busy with their daily life, in a country which only appears to be calm, whereas hatching ideas of great revolutions and social upheavals. Street barbers, the justice system based on terror built by power people, sick children, poor men and women bearing the deadly famine of the 20s of last century. People who had lived there and never left any trace of their existence, but whose lives affected the history of the Asian giant, which nowadays is one fifth of the world population.
